Reducing your household waste

Prevention and reduction of waste is at the top of the waste management hierarchy.  It is the most desirable method of waste management as the absence of waste means there is no need for the handling, transport or treatment of waste and the problems associated with this.

Many products we buy today contain an excess of packaging, most of which ends up in the bin.  There are a number of steps that householders can take to both prevent and reduce their household waste.
