| Fingal County Council Waste Charges 2009 |
In February 2008 Fingal County Council introduced a full recycling service for householders across the region on a phased basis.
The full service now includes:
> Fortnightly kerbside green bin collection to include plastic bottles
> Fortnightly kerbside brown bin collection for kitchen and garden waste.
The following table outlines the household waste charges for kerbside collection in 2009:

There are two payment options for the fixed charge:
1. A full payment of €110 due by the 6th of March 2009
2. A half yearly payment of €55 due by the 6th of March and another €55 payment due by the 31st of July 2009.
To make it as easy as possible to pay the fixed charge the following incentives are in place:
> You’ll get a FREE bin tag if you pay within first month;
> One free month on your fixed charge;
> 2 additional months credit to pay by instalments;
> Pay by SMART CARD in 150 outlets;
> Black bin tags will stay at €8 for 2008 and 2009;
> Buy 10 tags get 11;
> NO BILLS – Just pay the fixed charge and tag your black bin as usual;
> Generous waiver scheme will continue.

| Waiver Scheme 2009 |
Your household is eligible for a waiver if nobody in the household pays income tax. Your household may also be eligible for a waiver if you receive Family Income Supplement.
Waiver application forms are available at Fingal County Council offices at Swords, Balbriggan and Blanchardstown and can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. Alternatively, you can telephone the Council at 8906708 to request a form. You must send up-to-date evidence of all household income with the form (photocopy of pension book, payslips etc.).
Waiver applications will be processed within 15 working days of being received by the Environment Department. If approved for a waiver, you will receive free bin tags. The number of tags you receive depends on the date your application is received by the Council, the number of people living in your household.

Replacement Green Bins
The standard charge for replacing a lost or stolen Green Bin is €30, however, if your household is receiving free tags under our Waiver Scheme, a replacement bin will be provided free of charge.
